Our community is home to many service members and military families who serve and sacrifice on behalf of our nation. We want every service member and their families to know they are not walking alone.
Operation: Love in Action began as a simple way to show visible support — placing yellow ribbons throughout our neighborhoods and displaying yard signs that remind our military community: your community is behind you.
Together, we hope to create a visible and meaningful reminder that this community stands united in gratitude, support, and care for those who serve and the families who serve alongside them.
Respecting Military Families
This initiative is meant to encourage and support. Please respect the privacy of military families and avoid sharing deployment details or personal information publicly. We work discreetly — no public lists, photos, or spotlight, just quiet, thoughtful support.
Everyday Love in Action
It looks like neighbors helping neighbors, meals shared, childcare offered, encouragement given, and everyday kindness extended to families carrying the weight of deployment. Invite neighbors and local businesses to join the effort by sharing photos of ribbons or signs (respectfully)!
$25,000 in Restaurant Gift Cards Delivered
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, Kriquette's Kidz has provided $25,000 in restaurant gift cards to SJAFB and 916th families with deployed service members.
These gift cards are a small but meaningful way to say: you don't have to carry this alone. We are actively pursuing grants to help offset these costs so we can continue serving our military families without interruption.
Ways to get involved
Practical ways to help love on our service members and military families.
- Display yellow ribbons — Place bows on trees, mailboxes, porches, or community spaces.
- Be aware and encouraging — Buy a meal or coffee, say thanks, offer kindness in everyday interactions.
- Support military kids — Invite to playdates, offer rides, attend games or events when invited.
- Support families personally — Babysit, deliver a meal, send a gift card, write a note, give them time to rest.
- Send encouragement — Mail cards or care packages; have kids draw pictures or write notes.
- Purchase a yard sign — See below for locations; 100% of proceeds go to Operation Love in Action.
- Help with everyday tasks — Mow a lawn, small repairs, errands, laundry.
- Pray or reflect — Pray for protection and peace; set aside a weekly moment to remember those serving.
- Serve at a Hearts Apart Dinner — Help with food, setup, childcare, or hospitality for families during deployment.
$20 Minimum Donation – Yard Signs
To help fund this effort, we are selling yellow yard signs that say, “Your Community Is Behind You!” for a minimum donation of $20. One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to Operation Love in Action. You can pick up a sign at any of the following partner locations:
